Okuhle Media was nominated for another SAFTA at this years South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs). ‘Sarah Graham Food Safari’ Season 2, was nominated for top honours in the ‘Best Variety Show’ category.

Established in 2005 by representatives of the South African Film and Television industry, the SAFTAs’ core objective is to honour, celebrate and promote the creativity, quality and excellence of the South African Film and Television industry’s talent and productions, and to encourage both entrepreneurship and the development of new talent within the industry.

“We’re deeply honoured and thrilled to have been nominated for this acknowledgement,” says Louise McClelland, Executive Producer of the show. “It is great testimony to the hard work, passion and commitment of Sarah and the entire team involved in this show.”

The show, screened on Mnet during 2017, took viewers on a magical and mouth-watering adventure through some of Southern Africa’s most beautiful scenery, from Mpumalanga, through Northern KZN and all the way up Mozambique, whilst sharing exciting and interesting foods and recipes, indicative of each area, along the way.

“We felt confident that pairing food and recipes with the magic and beauty of the African continent, together with Sarah Graham as host, was a winning formula.” Continued McClelland. “This nomination is not only a great source of pride but, most importantly, it adds enormous credibility to our brand, all of which serves to enable us to continue delivering a positive contribution towards this important industry.”
